With the current economic crash, the new ideas beginning to circulate revolve around the notion that Reagan was somehow wrong in his policies of tax cuts, deregulation, free trade and liberty.

He wasn’t wrong.

He wasn’t God either.

The fault of this crash lies at the feet of people in general. If everyone lived within their means, this credit bubble burst wouldn’t have happened.

This is why there are no REAL solid solutions with economics. The human factor always remains.

Greed, envy, pride…this isn’t something five guys in a room can draft a solution for.

Reagan did the right things for the right times.

Retroactively trying to assign blame and wildly swinging in the opposite direction is not a sophisticated solution.

Unfortunately, right now we aren’t being led by people interested in sophisticated solutions…
